Welcome to my Monkey Moments blog

Welcome to my Monkey Moments blog

Welcome my friends.

My name is Claudia and I have two passions in life.  I love sock monkeys and I love vintage decorating.  Having spent the last 10 years as the owner of Monkey Moments Greeting Cards and Gifts and when I am not ‘monkeying around,’ hunting down ‘pre-loved treasures’, I have decided to  combine these two interests into one great blog.  I have decorated our home almost entirely of pre-owned treasures and my monkeys can show you how to do the same.

On a personal level, I have been married to “T” for 34 years.  We live in a cottage on the edge of a great woods (no kidding) and we have 3 grown daughters and 4 ½ grandchildren whom we love to pieces!

We (more me than “T”) love our creatures which include a horse named Thunder, a mini donkey whose name is Tallulah Belle but is called Button, and Winnie…our little dog with a giant personality.

My Personal Rules to Live By:

* My glass is always half full no matter what the circumstances….and boy have there been circumstances.

* I believe that ALL children deserve a magical childhood, not in the ‘occult’ sense of the word but in the carefree exploration of the world around them.  An awareness of the immeasurable beauty of God’s creation must be nurtured and encouraged.  To instill a sense of awe and curiosity with regards to the natural world is my lifelong passion.  When all too soon children grow up and the pressures of living are brought to bear, there is much comfort in retreating to cherished memories.

* If possible, find the humor in your situation.  Otherwise you could just go crazy.

* Given the choice of the woods or the mall…the woods win every time!
